Miao-Yu, Chiu Taiwan
I was just retiring from the military service and my brother asked to join him in horticulture. I started this path solely for money. It was interesting and free. It wasn’t until I met my teacher, Cheng-Kung, Cheng, that I started feeling the deeper meaning of life in Bonsai design. Gradually, I felt the conversation with my plants as I finished them. I felt that I was just following what their shapes inspire me to go, and I followed the direction to finish each work. While enjoying finishing my works, I found a sense of pride and accomplishment. For a little over a decade, I was lucky to have some awards along the years. I branched off of my brother’s style, and in gratitude of doing something I truly love, I’m motivated to do my best to work for greater performances in the future
