Email:chase(at)rosadebonsai.com: He saw his first Bonsai when in grade school. His oldest Bonsai is from a seed lanted while in college. Back in the 60's, he had the opportunity to study and work in Japan with a Bonsai grower, Kyozo Yoshida for almost a year. Upon returning, he bought a good size property and started giving classes and talks on bonsai and decided to leave his full time occupation as a Horticulturist to make his way in the Bonsai world. Since 1971 he has been invited to be a major exhibitor at the Philadelphia Flower Show (the largest indoor flower show in the world). He sets up a Bonsai display garden with an area for demonstrations during the 9-day show. Chase has held important positions in the bonsai comunity, and is currently the North American Regional Director of the World Bonsai Friendship Federation. The study and pursuit of bonsai has taken him to the four corners of the world. Chase has taught bonsai to local clubs as well in most of the worlds major Bonsai Symposiums and Conventions as a Bonsai Lecturer, Demonstrator, and Bonsai Judge. Chase has made hundreds of wonderful lasting Bonsai friendships not only in North America but also through out the world.. Bonsai for Chase has been and is a way of life – every day studying, thinking and working with Bonsai. What could be more perfect? He thinks the most outstanding thing has been to see so many of his students excel in the field of Bonsai as teachers, lecturers, writers and curators of collections. It’s been and continues to be a fantastic way of life.
