Hsieh Ji-shu China Hsieh Ji-shu was born in Quanzhou prefecture in Fujian, China in 1954. He currently serves as Vice President of the Bonsai and Viewing Stones branch of the Provincial Society of Landscape Architecture, Vice President of the Quanzhou Bonsai Society, the Provincial Bonsai Arts Master, and he is a member of Bonsai Clubs International (BCI). Influenced by his father at an early age, he enjoys growing flowers and plants. In the 1980s, he began planting and creating bonsai and became even more devoted since the 1990s. On one hand, he takes advice from experts with an open mind, studies diligently, and is proficient in various bonsai skills. On the other hand, Jishu Hsieh actively participates in national-wide bonsai-related activities, enthusiastically promotes Quanzhou bonsai, and receives praise from co-workers in the bonsai industry. His works emphasize nature and artistic concepts. He has participated in bonsai exhibitions on many occasions. He was the judge for the fourth, fifth, and sixth Chinese Bonsai Exhibitions. His banyan bonsai Yupingchengcui (meaning “greenness and the jade urn”), Ruta graveolens bonsai named Pingbuqingyun (the skyrocket), and Lingyunlinfeng (the spirit of the wind) won the Gold Medal of the Chinese Bonsai Exhibition. Yupingchengcui also won the Silver Medal of the Fourth Asia-Pacific Bonsai and Viewing Stones Exhibition and the 1999 Kunming World Gardening Fair and Penjing Exhibition. In 2003, he built “Yiyuan” , the first private bonsai garden in Quanzhou which was included in the Chinese Bonsai and Garden Collections. 謝繼書,1954年生,中國,福建省泉州市人。現任省風景園林學會盆景賞石分會副理事長、泉州盆景協會副會長、省盆景藝術大師、國際盆栽賞石協會(BCI)會員。從小受其父影響,喜歡養花種草,二十世紀八十年代初,轉向盆景的栽培與創作,九十年代以來尤為投入。一方面虛心學習請教行家,認真研究、熟練盆景製作技藝;另一方面積極參與全國各項盆景活動,熱心宣傳泉州盆景,受到全國盆景界同仁們的贊可。其作品講究渾厚自然,曾多次參加各種盆景展覽,歷任第四、五、六屆“中國盆景展覽”評委、榕樹盆景《玉屏呈翠》、《平步青雲》九里香盆景、《靈運臨風》榮獲中國盆景展金獎。《玉屏呈翠》還獲得第四屆亞太地區盆景賞石會議展覽銀獎、 99“昆明世界園藝博覽會”銀獎。 2003年創建泉州首家私家盆景“宜園”,編入“中國盆景名園集”。 |
