Shinji Suzuki was the Japanese headliner for the BCI-FELAB 2007 convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and BCI-IBS 2008 convention in St. Vincent, Aosta Valley, Italy.
 
Shinji apprenticed under Hamano Gensuke at Tojyuen in Omiya City between 1981 and 1987, after which he received his Instructor’s Certificate from the Japan Bonsai School.  He also holds his Instructor’s Certificate from the Japan Bonsai Association (1999).
 
Shinji has demonstrated at many major events including the European Bonsai Convention in Monaco in 1995; Golden State Bonsai Federation in San Francisco and Fresno (1998 & 2003), the Asia-Pacific Bonsai and Suiseki Convention in Taiwan (1999); the International Bonsai Arboretum Convention in New York (2003) among others.  Shinji’s bonsai have been awarded many honors, including at Sakufuten Exhibitions the Prime Minister Award (1996, 2003 & 2005), Agriculture Minister Award (1999),  the Japan Bonsai Association Award (2002 & 2004); the Kokufusho Award at the 77th and 79th Kokufu Bonsai Exhibitions in 2003 and 2005; and the Educational Minister Award at the Taikanten in 2004.
 
Shinji is the founder of the Bonsai Museum Taikan to “express the importance of Life, Wishes for World Peace and to promote Japanese Culture through the exhibition of fine bonsai.”  He designed the Japanese Garden and directed its construction for The Nagano NHK Broadcasting Building.  A one-hour TV documentary featuring Suzuki Shinji was aired in December 2001, Bonsai-Kami no Takumi meaning “God’s Bonsai Craftsman” by Imagine Broadcasting Company.


鈴木伸二(Shinji Suzuki)為BCI-FELAB 2007波多黎各及BCI-IBS 2008義大利年會的盆栽大師。他在大會中負責盆栽創作示範及盆栽創作現場教學。
伸二於1981年至1987年間在琦玉縣Tojyuen的Hamano Gensuke的門下學習,之後獲得日本盆栽學院頒發的講師證書,並於1999年取得日本盆栽學會的講師證書。
伸二曾在許多國際大會上從事盆栽創作的示範教學,包括:1995年在摩納哥舉行的歐洲盆栽大會、1998和2003年分別在舊金山和夫勒斯諾市舉行的黃金海岸盆栽聯盟、1999年在臺灣舉行的亞太盆栽賞石大會、2003年在紐約舉行的國際盆栽植物園大會等。此外伸二的盆栽也榮獲了許多國際大獎,包括:1996、2003和2005年在日本作風展(Sakufuten)中獲得總理大臣獎、1999年獲得農業部長獎、2002和2004年獲得日本盆栽協會大獎、2003年和2005年的第77和79屆日本國風展(Kokufu)的國風獎(Kokufusho),以及2004年在日本京都大觀展(Taikanten)獲得教育部長獎。
伸二是大觀盆栽博物館的創辦人,目的在「重視生命、促進世界和平,並藉由盆栽展覽推廣日本文化」。他除了親自設計長野NHK廣播大樓中的日本庭園外,並監督工程的進行。2001年十二月播出長達1小時的鈴木伸二的個人專輯記錄影片介紹,節目名稱:「Bonsai-Kami no Takumi」,意即「盆栽工藝之神」,由影像電視公司製作(Imagine Broadcasting Company)。
