ROCHERS DE LETTERS ET ITINERAIRES DE L’ART EN CHINE (Scholars’ Rocks and Paths of Artist Creation in China) Musée Guimet, Paris 25 March - 25 June 2012 THE OBJECTIVE OF THE EXHIBITION IS TO RENDER CHINESE SCHOLARS’ ROCKS ACCESSIBLE TO ALL BY PRESENTING A SELECTION OF EXCEPTIONAL STONES THAT HAVE BEEN TREASURED FOR GENERATIONS The exhibition invites us to enter the studio of a Chinese calligrapher, artist and poet in order to grasp the “scholar’s spirit” and its quest to grasp the infinite. Including strange rocks as well as contemporary ink paintings, the exhibit encompasses the history and aesthetics of the Chinese scholar and allows us to appreciate certain paths of artistic creation in China that are still alive today.
