#S01. Rock Planting and Bonsai. Covers the selection, preparation, planting and display of bonsai on rocks. Safety devices and tools used are shown along with techniques for cutting and shaping the rocks. #S06. Bald Cypress, Flat Top Style. This program, created by Vaughn Banting of New Orleans, shows bald cypress trees in various natural shapes with emphasis on the mature flattop style. #S08. Penjing (Chinese Bonsai) Describes various styles of penjing and the grow-and- clip method of training. Penjing techniques are compared with the literati style of painting. A segment shows a portion of the Montreal Botanical Garden's penjing collection. #S10. Some Considerations on Chinese Bonsai. This is a detailed study of trees in Mr. Wu's book, Man Lung Artistic Pot Plants. It shows how Chinese bonsai differ from Japanese bonsai in style as well as in name. 80 slides with 35 minute cassette tape and printed script.

#S11. Bald Cypress Forest - The Old and the New. This program was created by Vaughn Banting in 1993 showing the way cypress grow in nature followed by the creation of a lowland cypress swamp group planting at IBC '93. Vaughn leads the viewer on an aerial and ground survey showing cypress in their natural environment. This is followed by the creation of a group planting containing a new stand of trees dominated by an ancient monarch. 75 slides with 25 minute cassette tape and printed script.

#S12. Introduction to Bonsai. This program covers the definition of bonsai, sources of bonsai material, the history of bonsai and its evolution. The five basic classical styles of bonsai are shown and described. It concludes showing examples of the many variations on the five basic styles. 80 slides with 20 minute cassette tape and printed script.

#S13. A Trip to Omiya Village, Japan. This program provides a walking tour of several bonsai nurseries in Omiya, the international center of bonsai. "Giboku", the art of creating concrete to simulate wood, is described. 79 slides with 34 minute cassette tape.

#S14. Mamé Bonsai. Defines terms used for various sizes of miniature bonsai. Shows examples from Australia, Japan and USA of very small bonsai along with their accessories. Line drawings are used to describe how to create such bonsai. 80 slides with 33 minute cassette tape and printed script.

The beauty and the symbolism of Japanese garden art are portrayed in this Brooklyn Botanic Garden slide presentation of their Japanese Hill and Pond Garden. #S25. Wiring Bonsai. The types of wire appropriate for bonsai and the methods of maintaining wire, along with the purpose of wiring, are discussed. The mechanics of wiring bonsai are shown in detailed sketches and photographs. 80 slides with 27 minute cassette tape and printed script.

#S28. The Bonsai Gardener. This is a commercially produced introduction to bonsai for beginners covering suitable plant material, styles, tools, supplies and containers. The program concludes with the step by step styling of a tree. 95 slides with 15 minute cassette tape.

#S29. Literati Bonsai. This program covers the basic principles of literati (bunjin) style bonsai. Each principle is illustrated with examples of Chinese literati painting, line drawings to show the technique as it is applied to a bonsai and photographs of literati style bonsai.  80 slides with 24 minute cassette tape and printed script.
