#V01. Designing a Bonsai. Tom Zane of Florida covers a brief history of bonsai and a discussion of bonsai rules, followed by a lecture and demonstration of the principles of designing bonsai. It concludes with the potting of the demonstration tree. 50 minutes.

#V02. Dream Window: Reflections on the Japanese Garden. A commercial production which takes the viewer on a journey through some of the most beautiful gardens in Japan. Revealed are secrets of both classical and contemporary Japanese gardens. 57 minutes.

#V03. Kei Do: The Way of Display and Appreciation, Vol 1. A commercial production providing an introduction to "Kei Do" in which space is filled with elegant staging to recreate nature in miniature. In a limited space a tone of nature and living things is expressed. In this program the art of display and spring and summer displays are covered. 45 minutes.

#V04. Kei Do: The Way of Display and Appreciation, Vol 2. A commercial production showing autumn and winter displays as well as the display of suiseki. 45 minutes.

#V05. The Art of Bonsai. San Diego Bonsai Club program on the history, cultivation, and geographical dispersion of bonsai in the East and West. Examples of bonsai and suiseki are shown. Program ends with an employee of the Bonsai House of San Diego Wild Animal Park creating a bonsai and discussing bonsai maintenance. 60 minutes.

#V06. Bonsai For the Beginner. A commercial production by Georgina Kretschmar of Australia. It covers the basic steps for getting started in bonsai, beginning with definitions and ending with the potting of a demonstration tree. 60 minutes.

#V07. John Naka and His Bonsai. Filmed in John Naka's bonsai garden in California on April 28, 1992. John begins by working on a bonsai with a power tool, and then he leads the viewer on a tour of his garden while watering his bonsai and talking about individual specimens. 40 minutes.

#V08. Grow Successful Bonsai: A Step by Step Guide, Volume 1 with Peter Adams. Peter Adams of England discusses the bonsai image, starting off in bonsai, tools and their use, wiring, pots, potting and bonsai soil, cuttings, fertilizers, watering, and developing shape by refining and pruning the structure. He concludes with specific information on formal upright, informal upright and broom style bonsai. 58 minutes.

#V09. Bonsai: An Introduction to the Art of Bonsai. This Puget Sound Bonsai Association program covers the meaning of the word Bonsai, its history, and shows the five classical bonsai styles. Discusses where to see bonsai and how to get bonsai and types of plant material, concluding with a bonsai demonstration. 18 minutes.

#V10. The Art of Bonsai, Part One, Informal Upright Style. Yoko Bennett of Sydney, Australia, presents a comprehensive guide to creating and caring for an informal upright bonsai. 55 minutes.

#V11. Bonsai: The Art of Training Dwarf Potted Trees. This is a video production of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's film which describes the history of bonsai and relates bonsai to trees in their natural state. A nursery stock tree is styled and potted. It concludes with an explanation of the maintenance necessary for bonsai. 22 minutes.

#V12. IBC '91. At IBC '91 in England we visit all of the bonsai exhibits and most of the vendors in the Birmingham Convention Center. Then Dan Barton, Dan Robinson, Chase Rosade and Harry Tomlinson are shown working on their trees. Concludes with tours of Dan Barton's private collection in Bristol and Harry Tomlinson's private collection and commercial nursery near Nottingham. 45 minutes.

#V13. Grow Successful Bonsai: A Step by Step Guide, Volume 2 with Peter Adams. Peter Adams of England discusses the art of bonsai, collection and maintenance of wild bonsai material, bonsai styles and how to achieve them, and hard and soft pruning of deciduous and evergreen species. Concludes with instruction on the group style. 61 minutes.

#V14. Claft Style Group Planting with Hal Mahoney. Hal Mahoney of Long Island creates a group planting style bonsai from a single plant. The claft style is a combining of the clump and raft styles. Individual branches of a clump style cotoneaster are wired, bent horizontally along the ground as a raft, placed where needed and then the ends are bent upright to form vertical trees, creating the appearance of a forest. 64 minutes.

#V15. Group Planting. Carl and the late Shin Young of California create a group planting of Seiju elm. Shin creates the planting while Carl provides a humorous narration at IBC '88. 60 minutes.

#V16. Shanghai Botanic Garden. Begins with a photographic tour of the bonsai and penjing collection at the Shanghai (China) Botanic Garden, as seen during the Citizen Ambassador Program's Bonsai Plant and Penjing Cultivation Delegation visit in 1994. Concludes with a penjing demonstration by Mr. Hu and a power tool carving demonstration by Mr. Hansen. Video taped by Pedro Morales, edited by Tom Zane. 65 minutes.

#V17. Literati Bonsai. This program covers the basic principles of literati (bunjin) style bonsai. Each principle is illustrated with examples of Chinese literati painting, line drawings to show the technique as it is applied to a bonsai and photographs of literati style bonsai.  24 minutes.

#V18. Juniper Forest by John Naka. John Naka of California demonstrates the creation of a juniper forest on a large slab at IBC '92 in Memphis, TN. 105 minutes.

#V19. Bonsai Design Series, Vol 1, Forests. Warren Hill of California covers the various styles and techniques of selection, preparation, arrangement and care of multiple tree compositions. The work is expanded in his Vol #2 (BCI's V#24) 72 minutes.

#V20. Windswept Shimpaku by Kimura. Masahiko Kimura from Japan demonstrates the creation of a large windswept bonsai with shari and jin at IBC '92 in Memphis, TN. 80 minutes.

#V21. The Growing Art of Bonsai. Bonsai artist Arthur Skolnik leads the viewer to a wide variety of locations, talks to professional bonsai growers and hobbyists, and gives practical demonstrations in many techniques needed to successfully grow a bonsai. Topics include: history, styles, creating a bonsai, tools, pruning and wiring, soils, pots and repotting, watering, fertilizers and insect control and seasonal care for all types of trees. 58 minutes.

#V22. An Introduction to Bonsai, Vol 1. Mary Corrington, a bonsai teacher from Oregon, presents an answer to the question, "What is Bonsai". She does this by explaining the concept of bonsai and does not try to demonstrate the process by which a bonsai is created. 30 minutes.

#V23. National Bonsai and Penjing Museum, The. A 1993 compilation of pictures of all the trees and viewing stones in the Bicentennial, N. American, and Penjing collections at U.S. National Arboretum, Washington, D.C. 27 minutes.

V#24. Bonsai Design Series, Vol 2, Forests in the Making. Warren Hill of California made this video to complement and to provide the catalyst for applying the information in his Vol #1 (BCI's V#19). He creates two forest compositions. One is made from collected larch and the other is nursery grown trident maple. 58 minutes.

V#25. Keiko Yamane Creates Wild Flower & Grass Material Bonsai at IBC '93. Mrs. Keiko Yamane of Japan demonstrates the creation of three bonsai plantings using wild flowers and grass material at IBC '93 in Orlando, FL. 114 minutes.

V#26. Yuji Yoshimura Creates Two Group Plantings at IBC '93.Yuji Yoshimura of New York demonstrates the creation of two group planting of Shimpaku at IBC '93 in Orlando, FL. One of the plantings is a horizontal grouping of trees in a tray and the other is a vertical group planting on a rock. 111 minutes.

#V29. World Bonsai Convention in Orlando, FL 1993. Bonsai Societies of Florida and BCI hosted the 2nd World Bonsai Convention in Orlando, Florida in May, 1993. This program presents all aspects of the convention from the opening breakfast to the closing brunch. 120 minutes.
