Guy-wires can save you from having to wrap too many unsightly and thick wires around a branch that can also excessively stress the tree.

WIRING: Wire is applied to all the main branches, always thinking about their future position. With a number 4 wire, the wired branch must be bent and positioned to create the rst branch. Below are all the secondary and tertiary branches that will create all stages..
It is important to note that proper wiring respectful of diameters, anchor points and directions can be minimally invasive and less stressful to the tree
itself, and also can be less intrusive when the work
is completed. I always repeat my belief that wiring
is the ‘language’ of bonsai art. Without proper
wiring we can not transpose our idea into the living material that we are manipulating. Even the use of guy-wires when setting branches is very important because it can save you from placing unsightly wires that are too thick—or too many when you have to double the wire—and it can prevent excessive stress to the tree.
All the foliage masses are then positioned in accordance with the new design thus creating a new, strong and attractive image.
