Te Olives are present throughout the island and with special permits Pep collects materials in private olive groves among the ancient trunks of grafted Olives, where between the rocks there are very old trunks very suitable to make bonsai. With 3 to 5 rings per millimeter of trunk diameter, such as the junipers from the rocks, the Ullastre, the trees in the photos, are 2- to 3-centuries old!Pep graduated from my FKB Mallorca school with an eight-year course, but in addition to technique and cultivation, he already has a remarkable artistic sensibility that we can admire in his works, certainly the obvious result of a great artistic talent. Here we present some of his masterpieces. In the wild olive groves, called “Ullastre” by the Majorcans, these olives have spines, small leaves, the bark has a texture of cube-like nuggets and the fruits are small and reddish-black.
