ABFF or Asia-Pacific Bonsai Friendship Federation is the part of the World Bonsai Friendship Federation and represents the Asia region excluding Japan, China, India and South Asia. Afer the passing away of Mr Lee Chul Hoo, the WBFF director for that “Asia” region, Mr. Ismail Saleh from Indonesia who was known as the founder of ASPAC Bonsai and Suiseki Convention, was appointed as the Director of WBFF for Asia region outside Japan, China and India. Since that time it was named Asia-Pacifc region to honor Mr. Saleh’s achieve-ment in running the Asia-Pacifc Bonsai and Suiseki Convention successfully. During the Asia-Pacifc Bonsai and Suiseki Convention and Exhibition 7 in Philippines, Mr. Saleh founded the ABFF convention that will run every two years. The members are; Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Taiwan. Assuming that Indonesia had the 1st ABFF, followed by Taiwan, Tailand, Philippines and Vietnam. Tis event in Korea was called the 6th Asia-Pacifc Bonsai Industry Exhibition.
