   Top left: Hawthorn, Crataegus monogyna. Dug from the bush in 1991. Just the bare stumps were retained. All branching and ramification has been developed since then.
Top right: European Beech, Fagus sylvatica. Purchased as an advanced landscape tree
in 1992. The top was removed and the desired branches were selected and refined ever since.
Middle left: Firethorn, Pyracantha sp. Collected in 2011. In training for 5 years. 28 years old.
Middle right: Desert Ash, Fraxinus angustifolia. Informal upright. Dug from the wild in 2012 as a bare stump, all new branching grown from scratch and shaped with continual wiring and clipping.
Bottom left: Mirror Bush, Coprosma repens. Dug from a garden in 1993 where it had self-seeded and allowed to grow unchecked till it became a nuisance. It was lopped back to a stump and all the branching has since been regrown.
Bottom right: Mugo Pine, Pinus mugo. Originally shaped from nursery stock in 1990. Major branch selection and shaping work was done on the tree
in 2012. The refinement has continued since then.
