If you have a broken bonsai container that you did not have the heart to throw away, your pot can be given new life with seams of gold and silver.
There are many instructional videos online, each using a variation of the traditional technique. Some even use proprietary materials that they have developed.
With some research and a little practice, you too can create a special pot that has a one-of-a-kind pattern, for each pot breaks in a unique way. Whether it is a restored keepsake displayed in your home or, a special pot to complement and bring attention to that special tree, who can resist the attraction of gold?

“Here the kintsugi
in pure gold is the representation of
a golden root that seems to come out
at the foot of the bonsai and hook the broken vase, holding it together like a claw: the lightning striking the tree has created the Shari but its action also involves the pot in a dramatic interpretation of avant-garde bonsai.” – Massimo Bandera
