Top left: Olive, Olea europaea. This tree was collected many years ago and was originally styled in a windswept style. All the roots were removed with a chainsaw so that the future tree could fit into a Bonsai pot. The tree produced a handful of olives this year.
Top right: Japanese Black Pine, Pinus thunbergii. Started from seed in 1951. First trained in 1976. Shaping and refinement has continued since then.
Bottom left: Chinese Juniper, Juniperus chinensis. Originally a garden tree that was collected in 2009 with styling commencing in 2011.
Bottom right: Swiss Mountain Pine, Pinus mugo. First styled 2007. Displayed at NBPCA 2016/2017. A significant reduction in the number of branches in January 2018.
