Top left: Golden Elm ‘Louis Van Houtte’, Ulmus procera. This tree began life as a rooted cutting about 30 years ago. It was field grown for a number of years before finally being potted, after which detailed branch work began.
Top right: Trident Maple, Acer buergerianum. Imported from Japan in 1999. Ground grown to thicken trunk and lifted to root prune over many years to get a large base.
Middle left: Rosemary, Rosmarinus officinalis. Dug out from a garden in Victor Harbour, S.A, in May 2015. At that time it had several trunks, more a clump style, but only one of the trunks survived. Designed by Taiga Urushibata July 2016. First potted into a bonsai pot in March 2017.
Middle right: Japanese Black Pine, Pinus thunbergii. Slanting style and planted in a carved piece of granite.
Bottom: Japanese Maple,
Acer palmatum. Assembled
as a group circa 1996, using advanced seedlings purchased from an experienced grower. Then continued training with clip and grow method. Leaves turn a brilliant red in Autumn. Pot Japanese.
