I started carving daiza in 1996. A club (The Bonsai Society of Greater New Haven) member asked me to carve a daiza for her stone. Many years later she, unfortunately, passed and much of her collection of bonsai and viewing stones were auctioned. I was very fortunate to be able to acquire the stone for whom I had carved the daiza. The stone was displayed In the 2006 Stone Symposium in Pennsilvania.
